No wonder juncos are such a cheery sight! They move so fast across the ground that it’s hard to see what’s happening with their feet. What they’re actually doing is bursting over the snow in a series of jumps, throwing both feet forward with each bound. You could never have the winter blues if you jumped for joy like that.
