Follywood Films to Play at Wild Rose Independent Film Festival

Kora, my documentary film about a month long journey to Mount Kailash, the world's holiest mountain and source for the major rivers of Asia, has been nominated for Best Documentary, Best Iowa Film and Best Music at the Wild Rose Independent Film Festival. It features music from Guru Ganesh Singh, Manish Vyas, Govinda Express and Peter Sterling. It was shoot at 15,000-20,000 feet above sea level in Tibet and includes stops at sacred places in China and Nepal. 

 

Kora will screen at the Fleur Cinema in Des Moines on Saturday, November 6th at 1:00 p.m. The festival runs from November 4th through the 7th. The Saturday lineup is stellar an the awards ceremony is that evening.

 

Other Follywood films showing are the short feature, Moon Bite, directed by Savannah Quinn and written by David Patterson, on Thursday, November 4 at 6:13 p.m. Fairfield's Lou Bolster is in Splatter: Love, Honor and Paintball that plays Sunday, November 7 at 9:30 p.m. evening.

 

Kim Busbee has done a great job bringing a mix of independent foreign films while nurturing an Iowa film making community. 

 

The cast and crew of Emily's Girl, including Fairfield's Emily Schweitz, Ali Sperry and Sondra Ward, will be at the festival to promote the upcoming release. The film was shot on location in Des Moines, Fairfield, Agency and Ottumwa. Two of the actresses in the movie will offer workshops on Saturday, November 6th at the Fleur Cinema.
