Learn how you can join the fight against human trafficking on Thursday, October 17, at an important community event, “Identifying Human Trafficking.” Hosted by the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa at 6 p.m., this event aims to raise awareness, educate the public, and foster community engagement to address this pressing issue.
“It’s happening everywhere,” says organizer Krista Tracy. “Smaller towns especially.”
Human trafficking impacts communities nationwide, including towns in Iowa. The “Identifying Human Trafficking” event is designed to provide essential information on recognizing signs, understanding risks, and implementing preventive measures.
Raymond Fiedler, an expert from the Iowa Office to Prevent Human Trafficking, will serve as the keynote speaker. Fiedler will offer in-depth insights into the human trafficking landscape in Iowa, drawing from his extensive experience.
“Human trafficking is a complex issue that requires collective effort to combat,” says Tracy. “By coming together and sharing knowledge, we can make significant strides in protecting our community and supporting those affected by trafficking.”
