The Sustainable Living Center-Fairfield Ecological Design Center Fundraiser, Saturday, August 22nd,will raise funds for an executive director post. The SLC Board has selected Frank Cicela, presently with Clipper Turbine Works in Cedar Rapids.
A Slow Food 5-course meal will feature the talents of Sundar Raman, Grover Stock, and Torrey Witherspoon. Truckstop Souvenir’s Lauryn Shapter and Dennis James will perform. The gala fundraising dinner ticket is $100 per plate with options for corporate sponsorship.

Mayor Ed Malloy is officiating the evening fundraising dinner. Guest speaker Lois Hunt, from the ISU Extension Service, will speak on the ISU partnership with the City of Fairfield in funding a three-year sustainability coordinator position to be held by Scott Timm. Other featured speakers include Ken Hach of Wind on Rails, Fairfield’s own Francis Thicke, and Diane Dillon-Ridgley, Director for Interface Carpet and Plains Justice.
