After serving as Director of Marketing for the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center, I am truly thrilled to be making my stage debut at the Sondheim Center! Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is definitely "amazing" and it is an honor for me to experience our beautiful theatre from the other side. This show is high-energy entertainment, with great music and dancing. From both the performer's and audience perspective, it is simply a fun show. Great for families too!
Although I am part of the singing and dancing ensemble, I also play the featured role of Mrs. Potiphar. Yes, I get to have a little fun and seduce Joseph through dance. You might not recognize me in my black Egyptian wig and glitzy costume! In fact, all of my costumes involve headpieces or wigs – even a long blue wig for the Go Go scene!
Working with Adam Cates, the choreographer from New York, has been fantastic. He also did the choreography for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum earlier this year. He is so talented and really captures the spirit and energy of each piece of music. He will be returning to Fairfield to choreograph Banjo Boy, the third and final musical of the Summer 2008 Season.
Although Joseph runs for three weekends, I will complete my performances this Sunday July 20. I will be leaving the Fairest of Fields to shoot another movie with the director of Sister Patchouli. I am so thankful for all the opportunities I have had here and I greatly appreciate the support of the community.
Thanks and I'll see you at the theatre!
